A brief history of The Gourmet Group...

The journey began in 2011 when The Gourmet Group founder, Josh Castle-Doughty started The Home Gourmet with a view to providing professional dinner parties for friends and family. This concept quickly grew into a viable business, and now The Home Gourmet team consists of 4 fine dining chefs specialising in recreating the Michelin experience in our clients homes.

Private catering naturally expanded into event catering for canapé parties and the team saw an opportunity to impart their Michelin ethos onto the delicate world of event catering, striving to create event menus that had style, panache and a focus on feeding the eye as much as the tastebuds!

In 2012 Josh launched Platter Box providing freshly prepared and delivered gourmet business lunches for the office world after trialling the new concept with Detox Kitchen founder Lily Simpson. The concept was quickly successful with clients impressed at someone finally offering fresh, healthy and diverse lunches delivered on time across London.

The delectable journey continues...

Recently the company has expanded to include Partico party planners and Canapé Concept. Canapé Concept was a natural progression from the high quality event and canapé catering that The Home Gourmet was offering; Canapé Concept specialising in event and canapé catering for private and corporate clients alike for private events, corporate dos, product launches, charity events, bar and bat mitzvahs and special occasions.

Partico was our first step away from catering, providing creative, cutting edge and encompassing party planning for our clients. We’ve created thousands of exclusive contacts across the events and hospitality industry over the years meaning we can now specialise in bringing elements together under one umbrella that other party planners just cant compete with.

The Gourmet Group continues to grow and expand in 2016 looks to launch and develop a pop up street food and music concept in London. More details will naturally follow.

Josh Castle-Doughty

Founder & Director

Josh’s passion for cooking came from a young age; growing up learning to cook with Delia, and refining his skills in his teens with Jamie. Josh started Canapé Concept as an alternative to the unremarkable and mainstream private and event catering on offer throughout London. Passionate about food, Josh loves over seeing (and taste testing) every morsel of food that leaves the kitchens.

Chloe Stitchbury

Director of Events

Chloe joined us in 2010 and has a passion for all things food. As the ‘face on the street’ she’s in charge of front of house management, events planning and the creative touches that make your events and catering so very special. Able to source absolutely anything and with a meticulous attention to detail, Chloe is constantly redefining the way we think about things!

Rhiannon Electra

Event Coordinator

With a degree in Art and Events management from The Arts Institute of Bournemouth, Rhiannon joins The Gourmet Group with a wealth of experience and understanding of the events and hospitality industry. With a penchant for the weird and whacky, Rhiannon loves to find and add unique touches to events that you will not find anywhere else.

Leon Borja

Head Chef

Our rock n’ roll head chef Leon joined us from numerous michelin establishments in London. A native Brazilian, passion is core to Leon’s work and his experience and expertise flows through all of our canapé and event menus.

Bronson Mascimento

Events Chef

Bronson joined The Gourmet Group in 2015 with a wealth of event catering experience, he now leads our kitchen team for canapé and event catering.
